Boy, 12, critical after shooting

On Thursday, a 12-year-old boy was shot in the hand and chest while waiting for his mother to pick up his younger sister from a learning centre. Before the victim's mother even got inside the building, the gunman, who is about 15-16 years old, ran to the car and fired 5 shots into the white Chevrolet. The victim is now in a critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

There are way too many gun incidences in America. You hear about it almost everyday. What I don't understand is why the American government agrees to have such a lenient gun law. Especially after all these traumatizing events regarding gunmen. Remember the high school shootings? And the Virginia Tech shooting? I would assume that those incidences are enough to create a much stricter gun law. What more with the increase in the production of violent video games. This is one area I'm concerned with; many youngsters watch a whole lot of violent movies, listen to violent music, and play violent video games. Surely these activities affect their thinking even if not very much (some probably more than others). Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives seems to agree when he laments that "It's bizarre, but I've seen even younger kids carrying. It's part of the culture. Parents have to step up." I think this is sad. I don't think guns should be so easily obtained.

Trenton high schoolers demand bathroom supplies

This article is about students from Trenton Central High School who complain about the lack of hygiene found in their school's bathrooms. A total of 157 students have signed a petition demanding school administrators to improve the hygiene of the bathrooms (providing toilet paper, towels, soap), as well as repairing broken toilet stall doors.

I cannot understand why the Philadelphia Inquirer would put up such article. Yes, all schools should follow certain health and hygiene standards, however, I don't see the point of this short article. Are they going to have a follow-up article? What would they say? If anyone likes this article, do share with me.
